How it works
CONTEXT has worked closely with PC vendors and IT distributors to create an accurate and consistent segmentation of the education PC market.
The Vendor Programme market split categorises products as ‘Education' if any of the following conditions are true:
- the operating system is Windows Education / Academic, or Windows S
- part numbers in the vendor's list prices reference an education programme
- the product range is education (e.g. Chromebook 3 series, Latitude 11).
We are also able to offer a Vertical Market split which, in addition to the criteria above, includes:
- sub-$500 Chromebooks selling into commercial channels (i.e. corporate resellers, etailer businesses, small and medium resellers).
These criteria have been used to tag all desktops, notebooks and tablet PCs already in the CONTEXT database, and are now applied as a standard part of our product-creation process.
