On 9 May, at the Vranken Pommery champagnerie in Milan, Stefano Nordio, vice president of D-Link Europe, kicked off ‘The Innovation Tour’ – a five-day roadshow which aims to introduce installers and channel partners to D-Link’s latest solutions in switching and IP surveillance as well as Nuclias, the new cloud-based network-management platform for businesses. The tour will continue to Turin, Florence, Bari and Caserta. Each day, a vendor partner will present a case study illustrating a networking implementation that has been a success as a result of collaboration with D-Link Italy.
D-Link will focus more on the B2B opportunity, notably by increasing its presence in the fields of industrial switches and cloud-managed networking. Nuclias plays an important role, and is designed to be as accessible as possible without compromising quality. Another aim of the tour is to awaken interest in the themes of Industry 4.0 and 5G Cities, for which data analysis and management are key driving factors.
The first day of the tour began with CONTEXT’s Senior Research Analyst Gurvan Meyer and Country Director Isabel Aranda talking about digital transformation and the critical role of connectivity as an accelerator. “All technologies that enable digital transformation are ‘network-centric’ in nature,” said Isabel.
The CONTEXT experts also spoke about worldwide spending on the technologies and services that are enabling this change, and the range of opportunities digital transformation will bring to businesses. They described the current state of the European IT business landscape, historical trends (concentrating on year-on-year changes in business networking segments), what those trends mean for the evolution of the Italian business IT landscape, and which products and segments it would be strategic to focus on in coming years as a result.
CONTEXT also identified six benefits cloud-based wireless offers when compared to traditional network architecture. Cloud-based solutions lead to quantifiable enhancements in business thanks to:
As author Lynn Taylor has pointed out, “How you end the day is critical, as it has much to do with how you start the next day.” With this in mind, D-Link organised a guided walking tour taking in the rooftop of the Duomo, Milan’s most famous landmark.
The second stop of The Innovation Tour will be on 23 May in Turin, a city known for its refined architecture and cuisine. We are looking forward to another great day with D-Link Italy.
