UK IT Distribution: Top Categories & Sellers

The UK IT distribution market held steady in the first quarter of 2026, as evidenced by our latest TopSellers report, with buyers prioritising high-end technology. Robust investments in next-gen computing and enterprise infrastructure kept the overall market healthy despite a drop in unit volume.

Widespread infrastructure modernisation and a growing preference for premium devices drove the market's high-value growth.  Server Computing surged by 157.6%, followed by a 44.8% expansion in unit shipments. The components sector mirrored this optimism; processor revenues climbed 70.8%, while critical storage infrastructure, including disk arrays, posted a 119.9% increase.

Consumer-level devices continue to lead the market. HP secured the majority of corporate fleet rollouts, while Apple maintained its position in the high-end tier.  Notebooks generated the largest individual revenue share, amounting to £168.9 million, despite a 7.9% drop in unit sales.

The widespread adoption of premium business devices is evident in the performance of  the newest HP EliteBook, which sold 3,350 units and generated over £4.29 million in revenue. Similarly, the Apple MacBook Air sold 2,323 units, generating over £1.85 million. However, stationary computing faced contractions, with standard desktop unit sales declining by 12.8% and tablet PC shipments by 17.4%.

Enterprise software applications complete the core trio of regional market value, as a steady and recurring priority in corporate budgets. Virtualisation software remains substantial, following a 15.3% financial increase, whereas office application software grew by 5.7%. Businesses are deliberately moving away from low-cost hardware toward durable systems, creating an advanced infrastructure that gives retailers and distributors a reliable foundation.
