Consumers develop appetite for non-Apple tablets

London, 25th November 2011 - CONTEXT, the European IT market research firm, in partnership with CCS Insight, revealed figures today which show increased demand for non-Apple tablet PCs. Tablet VU, the companies' report, which tracks distributor sales volumes, market share and selling prices across the burgeoning tablet sector in Europe, shows that while Apple's iPad 2 still dominates, products like the Asus Eee Transformer and Acer Iconia Tab tablets are proving popular with some buyers.

EMEA Printer Shipments fail to grow as economy depresses sales

15th November 2011 – Sales of inkjet and laser printers across Europe, Middle East and Africa declined by 0.6% in unit terms during Q3 2011 compared to the same period one year ago as Europe’s economic slowdown took its toll on business and consumer demand, according to data released today by CONTEXT, the IT market research company.

Tablet PCs now third largest revenue earner for Europe’s IT distributors

11th November 2011 – CONTEXT, the IT market research company, today released figures from its new Data Intelligence Service, which show that that tablet computers accounted for 12.2% of total European technology distributors’ revenues during October 2011, up from 5.6% one year ago, making this rapidly growing computer segment the third largest revenue earner.

European PC Revenues down 11%
11th October 2011 – CONTEXT, the IT market research company, today announced figures that show sales of PCs to business and consumers across Europe struggled to keep level during the third quarter of this year, compared to the same period a year ago, as vendors and distributors slashed prices to clear unsold stocks that had been building up since the end of 2010. These figures exclude tablet sales across Europe.
