19 June 2008 – The best-selling capacity in the 3.5-inch internal Hard Disk Drive (HDD) sector became 250GB in March 2008, for the first time since the beginning of the year, according to data released today by Context, covering distribution sales for France, Germany and the UK. Whereas 250GB was only third in January, after 80GB and 160GB, with 21% share, it became second in February, and it reached the top position in March with 23% share (see Table 1).
Among the top selling models in the 3.5-inch, internal HDD sector, with 160GB storage capacity and SATA-300 interface were Seagate’s Barracuda 7200.10, followed by Hitachi’s Deskstar 7K160 and Western Digital’s Caviar SE in second and third position respectively (see Table 2).
